ich finde diese seite passt super zu whitney, also so "danciges" wie "i wanna dance with somebody". echt hammer musik, halt im 80er style.aber da das album nicht nur dance songs enthält, sondern auch eher romantisches wie "where do broken hearts go" ist für jeden was dabei! whitney machte ja nicht umsonst mit diesem album geschichte, da sie damit der erste weibliche star war, der es schaffte auf den billboard albumcharts auf platz eins zu kommen!!! meine favorites sind "so emotional" und "love will save the day" aber der rest ist auch der hammer!tja, das ist halt whitney:D

Sehr schön! Kaum ein Album enthält so viele Nr. 1 Singles!- I wanna dance with somebody- So emotional- Didn't we almost have it all- Where do broken Hearts go- und noch ein Duett mit Mutter Cissy! (nicht Nr.1 aber auch sehr schön)Gestalterisch aber doch schon etwas angestaubt ( halt ganz im 80er Look). Ich finde eine Spitzensängerin wie Whitney Houston verdient da was schöneres. Da könnt man doch beim bevorstehenden Comeback mal was machen&Das Album selbst ist aber uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Whitney Houston hat eine Wahnsinnsstimme - man fragt sich nur, weshalb sie sich für einen synthesizergenerierten Einheitsbrei von Hintergrundmusik hergibt. Die Variationen im Background sind minimal, das Gedüdel und Geklingel ist billig, und ihre Performance wird im Effekt durch das Fehlen eines klug arrangierten Hintergrunds geschmälert. Man wünscht sich, sie hätte schon früher erkannt, dass ihre Stimme erst mit einem wirklich gut komponierter Hintergrund wie bei "I will always love you" (Bodyguard) den vollen Zauber entfaltet.

While others may have different opinions, I regard this album as Whitney's finest album. It became the first album by a female singer to debut at number one on the American album charts, matching that achievement in Britain.

The album features five major international hits - I wanna dance with somebody (a number one hit in Britain and America), Love will save the day (a UK top ten hit), So emotional (an American number one hit and UK top ten hit), Didn't we almost have it all and Where do broken hearts go (both American number one hits and UK top twenty hits). Of these, my favorite is Didn't we almost have it all.

Whitney teams up with her mother (Cissy) for a superb cover of I know him so well. From the musical Chess, this was originally a UK number one hit for Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson. The other songs (Just the lonely talking again, Where are you, Love is a contact sport, You're still my man, For the love of you) are all brilliant.

Following an encouraging debut album featuring several hits including Saving all my love for you, I was really impressed by this album and had high hopes of a bright future that (from my perspective) never materialized although there were occasional great moments. Nevertheless, this album remains what it always was - a masterpiece.
