6 Monate sind vergangen seit Vicki Nelsons gesamtes Weltbild umgeworfen wurde,6 Monate seit sie Henry, den Liebesroman schreibenden Vampir, kennen gelernt und mit ihm gegen einen Dämon gekämpft hat.Nun konfrontiert sie Henry mit einem neuen Fall. Dieser führt sie von den lebhaften Straßen Torontos in die ländliche Gegend Londons, Ontario. Hier macht ein Scharfschütze jagt auf eine von Kanadas gefährdeten Spezies: den Werwolf.Zwei Mitglieder der Werwolffamilie hat der unbekannte Schütze schon getötet und um weitere Verluste zu verhindern, hat die Familie ihre Fremdenfeindlichkeit überwunden und Vicki als Privatdetektivin beauftragt den Killer zu finden. Für Vicki ein neuer ungewöhnlicher Fall, für Henry eine Gelegenheit die Beziehung zu Vicki zu intensivieren. Wäre da nicht noch Mike Celluci. Dieser, von Eifersucht getrieben, beginnt Nachforschungen über Henry anzustellen. Dadurch bringt er nicht nur sich und Henry in Gefahr, sondern auch die Werwölfe.

In Blood Trail (=Blutspur) greift T.Huff die von Blood Price (=Blutzoll) abgeschlossene Geschichte auf und führt sie logisch weiter. Henry und Vicki agieren wieder als Team, diesmal jedoch auf freiwilliger Basis und nicht aus Zweck wie in Blood Trail. Die Vorteile dieses seltsamen Gespanns haben sich schon in Blood Price ausgezeichnet. Vicki, die an fortschreitender Blindheit leidet, ist für den Tageseinsatz zuständig, während Henry aufgrund seiner Herkunft die Nachtschicht übernimmt. Die Persönlichkeit der Hauptcharaktere werden weiter ausgeführt, bruchstückhaft ihre Vergangenheit enthüllt. So bleibt noch genügend Stoff für die weiteren Bücher (Blood Lines, Blood Pact, Blood Debt). Sehr gut gelungen ist Tanya Huff auch die Darstellung der Sozialstruktur der Werwolffamilie. Es ist sogar so verblüffend realistisch und plausibel erzählt, das man als Leser fast vergisst das es nur Fiktion ist.

Blood Trail ist durch seinen scharfen Witz, der fesselnder Story und des exzellenten Schreibstils von Tanya Huff ein echter Pageturner.

In this 2nd book with Vicki Nelson & Henry Fitzroy. Herny has freinds in trouble, & they want to hire Victory to help them. Someone is picking them off one by one, & they can't go to their local police because they have a big secret: they are Werewolves. Ms. Huff makes me believe there are Werewolves, not the monster movie kind, but a Breed of creatures striving to survive just like humans. Vicki, can't resist a challange & rides to the rescue. Major complication is Mike Celluci her ex-partner/lover, he didn't totally catch on to the whole super natural thing last time(Blood Price), so he totally unprepared for what he steps into in this investigation. Wonderful believable characters, fast paced... with lots of different elements.. ScFi, Horror, Mystery & Romance.. Enjoy.

Tanya Huff is a wonderful author. I am so thankful I found this series! I have two more to go and I am already getting upset that it's close to the end of the series. I don't want to slow down. I have read one right after the other - never tiring of the characters - enjoying everything to the fullest! This book with the werpeople was very, very good. Tanya Huff did a wonderful job describing the wer's life and showing the families/packs commitment to each other. It had you cheering, crying and laughing - especially at the antics of Shadow/Daniel. With not a lot of descriptive paragraphs, Tanya Huff brings everything happening between the pages so clearly into focus. You feel as if you are there. Even after the first book, I found myself caring very much for the three main characters. Glad that when I finished the first I had four books more to go. This is a wonderful series! Don't miss it, but make sure you read them in the order they were written.

Tanya Huff did a excellent job when writing this book. She put together a funny, thrilling, serious and sad book that keeps you on your toes. Henry and Victory are two of the best characters in this series I have seen. This book reminds you of some of the wrong that religion has done to people, the serious part, and also reminds you that being yourself is fun, the funny part. My favorite shifter has to be Shadow the youngest son. He is hilarious in his clown like ways and just makes you laugh. My family thought I was crazy when I laughed out load at Shadow's antics. Tanya Huff with her Blood series isn't quite up to Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series but she has got me re-reading her books!

       werewolves, vampires and humans, oh my!, 31. Oktober 1998

this is a great sequel to blood price, and incidentally, there are currently five total now. what i really loved about this book was not just the 'cant put it down' action and the 'oh stop my stomuch hurts' laughing at the interplay between characters, but the research done into wolf society. i've spent quite a bit of time reading wolf studies and i felt really good about the way that tanya huff portrayed them here. a truly great job by a fabulous author, who ought to be a little better known than she is. 1 blood price (demons).... 2 blood trail (werewolves) .... 3 blood lines (mummy) .... 4 blood pact (zombie).... 5 blood debt (ghost)

if you can't find them all, you CAN read 2 and 3 out of sequence. but do read volume 4 before volume 5. thats all i can say....
