What's the big deal about this book???, 21. August 2008

A badly written cheap philosophy, for those who like easy reading books for an afternoon on the beach. Two points because of the oil drops story.

Dieses Buch beweist eindrucksvoll, das man auch mit einfachen Worten und einer nicht zu anspruchsvollen Geschichte ein tolles Buch machen kann. Es macht einfach Spass die Hauptfigur auf seiner Reise zu begleiten und der Erzähler schafft es auch einfache Begebenheiten so zu umschreiben, dass man für Stunden gefesselt bleibt. Auf der interessanten Reise wird man immer wieder mit spannenenden Zwischenfällen konfrontiert, die man in diesem Buch eigentlich gar nicht erwartet hätte. Dazu werden ab und an Lebensweisheiten eingestreut, die alle ihren Bezug zur Geschichte haben und man kann schön mitverfolgen wie der Charakter auf seiner Reise mit seinen Erfahrungen wächst.Der Titel hat allerdings wenig Auswirkungen auf die Geschichte. Wer hier eine Lektüre über Alchemie erwartet wird enttäuscht, denn die spielt hier eine ganz kleine Rolle und wird auch nicht näher erläutert.Dieses Buch würde ich besonders als leichte Reiselektüre weiterempfehlen. Hier kann man ganz ohne Anstrengung richtig gut unterhalten werden.

This book is simply an amazing piece of literature, taking you on a journey so peaceful and intense that you will never forget this story.The choice of words, the plot, the setting, the whole imagery is stunning.Paulo Coelho definitely made me reading books again.His "Eleven Minutes" shall be my next one to deal with."The Alchemist" I can highly recommend to anyone who loves a mixture of fairy tales and some sort of an emotional journey (adventure).Two thumps up !

If you are looking to follow your heart in a chosen path then this book is for you. The book contains great insights and spiritual awareness but is written in a very easy to read style.

I would strongly recommend that before you read this book to follow the principles listed in the Fit for Life books by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. This cleansing of the body will take several months but it is worth it, as then you can experience the insights and spiritual guidance for yourself.

Another book I would recommend following the detoxification process is The Kingdom of God is Within You by Leo Tolstoy.
