Im Zeitgeist des Fast Food, 22. Dezember 2004

Jamie Olivers Küche gleicht eher der Küche eines Fast Food Restaurants als der eines leidenschaftlichen Kochs. Kurz und knapp: wenn man seinen Stil zu kochen mag, ist das Buch in Ordnung. Für Hobbyköche ist es wohl nicht das Richtige.

His enthusiastic style will jumpstart you into preparing a delicious feast with just a few basics. Do not be daunted by an ingrediant like chicken stock--just grab the boullion. You don't have chorizo sausage? Neither did I, but the German sausage I used tasted just so devine--it was that brisk sauteé in olive oil. I've prepared four of the recipes so far, and each was what I think a meal is about--tongue embracing, stomach warming and soul massage all in one. Consider it--how many other cookbooks do the same, with so little and so quickly? So if you feel like you're about to go under, hold this book in your hands and leaf through it. It's new twist on classics will infect you with a desire to get into the kitchen and cook easy-to-prepare meals that are fun and ssoooooooo satisfying. If your kitchen table is the life raft, this book is your brand new motor. Pretty pictures too.

Entweder man mag ihn und seine Art zu kochen und sich zu präsentieren oder nicht. Ich mag ihn und habe erst durch seine Rezepte und Fernsehsendungen Spaß am Kochen gefunden. Dieses Buch bestätigt wieder einmal, dass Kochen nicht schwierig sein muss, sondern auch locker-leicht gelingen kann und einem viel Freiraum für die eigene Kreativität lässt. Sein Enthusiasmus reißt einfach mit! He's simply the best!

Er repräsentiert die neue Küche: schnell und einfach. Es gibt wohl keinen, der mit einer solchen Leidenschaft an die Arbeit geht wie Jamie Oliver. Seine Bücher sind wie die Serie: fesselnd, unterhalten und lehrreich...einfach nur zu empfehlen.
